Duluth-Superior Area Community Foundation Annual Report

The Opportunity Gap is about the disparity between vulnerable children in our community and the opportunities they have for education and participation in extracurricular activities as compared to their peers. The Community Foundation is working to create equity and opportunities for all children. It needed an annual report that spurred people to think and to embrace vulnerable children in our community as their own, thus the theme: “We can do better by embracing all of our kids.” I juxtaposed sepia-toned images with bright, decorative graphics in this piece to convey both the seriousness of the problem and the optimism needed to solve it. I also Art-Directed all of the photos, working with a local photographer. Below are samples of my favorite spreads from this 48-page book.
